Frontend develop illustrations to clarify the anthropometric dimensions and physical accessibility features for the AccessIT Guidelines.
When the NDA AccessIT Guidelines were launched in April 2002 the content was entirely text based. While the text is factual and easy to understand many of the guidelines, especially those relating to physical devices and access, are best explained using visual examples. Frontend were asked to provide visual content to support the text.

Illustrations
Frontend graphic designers developed a simple technical illustration style specifically for the AccessIT Guidelines. The style was applied to a range of anthropometric and physical access diagrams which were used to clarify dimensions and design recommendations in the text.

Photographic content
Images were used to highlight some of the accessibility barriers that confront people with particular impairments. Many of the images were captured from video footage used by the NDA to highlight the purpose of the guidelines.
