BridgeCo

BridgeCo (Zurich) are a global leader in (OEM) networked home entertainment platforms, connecting internet media sources, computers, and consumer electronics throughout the home. Their networked entertainment platforms allow a high degree of system customisation, enabling BridgeCo customers to rapidly modify the user interface. BridgeCo customers include Philips, Denon, Terratec, Noxon and M-Audio.

Frontend designed a revolutionary user interface for BridgeCo’s latest digital audio broadcast platform. The DMP Player allows users to access digital music across many devices from one wireless device. It also provides access to online music services such as Pandora and Rhapsody. Frontend designed a distinctive graphic design for the music player interface that can be accessed through the wireless product or TV screen. Frontend also designed a remote user interface (RUI) that enabled users to access the device through their mobile phone handset.

The Frontend team conducted in-depth research into audio product design and interaction prior to engineering a solution. Detailed wireframe models were produced outlining screen flow, product and remote control functionality. Several iterations of interface wireframes were produced in sync with BridgeCo’s product development cycle. Early concept designs were evaluated with focus groups and user testing was conducted on more developed product prototypes. The final design was launched in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas 2008.
